Previously, Matt was Director of Civic Technology at Microsoft in New York City, and Director of Digital Mobilization for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign. Matt has a Master’s of Arts and Sciences from the MIT Media Lab’s Center for Civic Media and a Bachelor of Arts with High Honors from the University of Maryland College Park. Matt Stempeck and Fiona Teng 鄧穎恆
Matt Stempeck is senior researcher at Civic Hall, curating the Civic Tech Field Guide, a global directory of technologies for the public interest. He’s also a Corporate Overlord in the Bad Idea Factory, a creative collective that builds open source digital hijinks.
Fiona Teng 鄧穎恆 is a Hong Kong-born, Bay Area-made, and New York City-based storyteller, communications professional, and writer. She has over ten years of experience in marketing, communications, and storytelling spanning the non-profit, private, and public sectors. Her non-fiction writing has been accepted into Voices of Our Nation’s Art writers of color collective, and published in Huffington Post, RESIST Media, 500 Pens, On She Goes, and Philadelphia Printworks Zine. She has told countless stories through infographics, essays, poetry, interviews, and videos, and currently helps Civic Hall tell stories as the Director of Marketing and Membership.
