NYC Veterans Alliance invites veterans, family members, caregivers, and service providers to join us for an informative “Lunch & Learn” talk highlighting the new New York State law going into effect on January 1, 2018, that will provide new Paid Family Leave policies to enable loved ones to spend time with those called to active military service and alleviate the pressure of working and caring for a child while a loved one is away. The law also applies to caregivers of veterans meeting certain eligibility criteria.
Join us for a conversation with Molly Weston Williamson of A Better Balance, the lead advocacy organization spearheading education about New York State’s new Paid Family Leave provisions. In this conversation, we will:
— Explore how the law will be implemented starting on January 1, 2018
— Learn eligibility requirements for military caregivers and family members
— Learn how each of us can spread the word within our community and encourage family members and caregivers to take advantage of this new benefit
