Join Forums @ Civic Hall, Facebook, lilspace, and Personal Zen, on March 4 from 6-8:30PM to explore social health and digital wellness as part of a kick-off for the National Day of Unplugging starting two days later at sundown.
We will bring together folks who are interested in mental and public health, behavioral research, and community building in pursuit of healthier use of technology, social wellbeing, and conscious creation of digital engagement tools. Discussants include psychologist and digital mental health expert Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary, founder of the nextgen digital wellness movement #HalftheStory, Larissa Mars, a representative from Facebook, and others soon to be announced!
In addition to a lively conversation with speakers, the evening will also include exercises in using tech more thoughtfully, reflections from artists, and a lilspace installation, with the launch of the Unplug for a Cause™ challenge where our minutes unplugged at this event and throughout the month of March will turn into warm socks for people living in homeless shelters.
This Forum aims to inspire an ongoing conversation and development of a community of practice at Civic Hall for those interested in building healthier communities on and offline, as well as practicing more mindful engagement with technology.
Keep an eye on the Forums pages for a pre-Forum primer, updates, and more!
