The Civic Hall Entrepreneurs In Residence Program offers an unparalleled opportunity for civic innovators to foster their growth, while simultaneously strengthening Civic Hall’s community.

Our Residents are committed to the mission of Civic Hall, building civic technology, and contributing to others in meaningful and impactful ways.

Qualified participants are looking to get a civic tech project, movement or company off the ground, and don’t currently have the financial resources to purchase a membership to Civic Hall. Special consideration is given to applicants from various populations with unique backgrounds and identities and to Military Veterans.

This program requires a 6-month commitment beginning on February 1st, 2018.

Civic Hall provides two different residency plans that offer visibility through collaborative programming, industry-focused network engagement, and opportunities to build relationships in a unique and substantive way.

Both plans have heavily discounted membership fees to accommodate those in financial need. If you can not afford these rates, please do not be discouraged. We will work with you. Our Residency Committee reviews applications based on the various criteria in this application.

 

FULL-TIME RESIDENTS: $90/month for each individual. Community-level membership valued at $450/month. (If you can not afford to pay this amount, please let us know in the comment section of the application below. This does not reflect the decision-making process.)

  • Membership Status: Must use the space as a member of Civic Hall for a minimum of 2-weeks per month during the entire 6-month program. If you need to take time off for travel, advance notice is required.
  • Community Engagement & Participation: You will meet with the Residency Committee to complete a progress report after your first 3-months in the program. If you have met the following outlined program requirements before the end of the cycle, you may be eligible for another 6-month residency renewal.
    • Run at least one organization-hosted event (ie: workshop, roundtable, office hours, etc.) during the 6-month Residency Program.
    • Run at least one co-hosted event for members of Civic Hall during the 6-month Residency Program.
    • Provide brief peer feedback on at least one event hosted by a fellow member of your residency cohort.

PART-TIME RESIDENTS: $20/month for each team member of your organization. Part-time membership valued at $300/month. (If you can not afford to pay this amount, please let us know in the comment section of the application below. This does not reflect the decision-making process)

  • Membership Status: Must use the space as a member of Civic Hall for a minimum of 4 days per month during the entire 6-month program. If you need to take time off for travel, advance notice is required.
  • Community Engagement & Participation: You will meet with the Residency Committee to complete a progress report after your first 3-months in the program. If you have met the following outlined program requirements before the end of the cycle, you may be eligible for another 6-month residency renewal.
    • Run at least one co-hosted event for members of Civic Hall during the 6-month Residency Program.
    • Provide brief peer feedback on at least one event hosted by a fellow member of your residency cohort.

 

Residents in good standing have the option to renew their Residency Agreements for up to 2-years. After this time, the organization/member will be considered EIR Alumni and is no longer eligible for enrollment into this program. 

Residents will be announced on January 15th and orientations will be held January 22 – 26th.
